Doris M. Shaw, of Franklin, VA, entered Eternal Life on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the age of 86 years. She was born on July 7, 1930 in Ketchikan, Alaska to John D. and Mary Moulton. She later married James F. Shaw.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robin Moulton and Jack D. Moulton.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Gerald Edward Shaw; daughter Patricia Leigh Shaw-Russell; grandchildren Jennifer Lynn Shaw, Matthew Amorise, Justin Tyler Russell, Eric James Shaw Russell; great-grandchildren Madison Amorise, Kaydence Amorise, Cody Shaw, and Lucas Ziegler; brother Frank B. Moulton; and sister Alta Klyonen. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Doris was a member of the Church of the Ascension.
Doris will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, privately. The Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking the “post a condolence” button below.

So sorry for your loss, Doris was a great neighbor to me and my family!! She was one of a kind!! I will always remember her as she gave me a Japanese maple tree that is in full bloom !! This is what she gave us when we moved from 688 charlecote dr!! She will always be in our hearts!!

So very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, but remember she is no longer in pain and now enjoying her new life with her husband Doris was a wonderful neighbor and we enjoyed going on shopping trips and conversations in our yards. Doris will be truly missed
