Dorothy Fae Conner passed away on Thurs., Nov. 23, 2017. Fae was born on July 5, 1924, in New Galilee, Pa. She was one of nine children and was proud to be part of a close, loving family. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1941 and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. Fae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughters Diane C. Williams (Tom) and Debra C. Bianchi (Ron); grandchildren Kara Fae Shaffer (Steven), Thomas R. Williams (Lindsey), Erika B. Hawkins (Jason), Rebecca B. Gregory (Shawn); and great-grandchildren Karrigan L. and Conner S. Shaffer, Adeline F. Williams, Olivia K. and William S. Gregory, and Charlotte E. and Caroline G. Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. Conner, her parents Arthur N. and Gertrude E. Duncan, and her great-granddaughter Hayley Fae Shaffer.She was a faithful member of Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church, serving on many committees and as a trustee. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross and the Girl Scouts. Fae worked as a docent at Newport News/Williamsburg Airport and served the community as a volunteer for PORT (People Offering Resources Together), which provides shelter for the homeless. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 29 at Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel on Tues., Nov. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined. The family would like to thank Visiting Angels for their care and compassion. Memorials may be made to Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
