Eldridge “E.T.” Thomas Hunt, Jr, 85, went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2021. E.T. was born in Lynchburg, VA to the late Eldridge Thomas Hunt, Sr. and Zelma Dobyns Hunt on August 21, 1935.
E.T. met the love of his life Shelby, while serving in the Navy. After his Naval Commitment and a short Stint as a Lynchburg Police officer he started his Career in the paper industry and retired from the Rock Ten Paper Company after nearly 40 years of service. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. His Favorite sport was football and he loved the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed fishing and singing gospel music with Friends. E.T. was loved deeply and will be sorely missed
Other than his parents, E.T. was preceded in death by his son, Loal Bruce Hunt.
Left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife of 63 years, Shelby Clifton Hunt; children, Terry Hunt & wife Marina of Virginia Beach, Eldridge Thomas Hunt, III & wife Bett of Lynchburg, Clifton Scott Hunt of Lynchburg and Lauri Foutz & husband Timothy of Roanoke ;grandchildren, Eldridge Thomas “Tommy” Hunt, IV, Christopher L. Hunt, Joseph J. Hunt, Victoria A. Hunt, Terence Alexander Hunt, Matthew L. Hunt, and Isabelle G. Hunt; sister, Sylvia Jane Gibson of Dry Fork, VA; many more extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life for E.T. will be scheduled at a later date.
