Eleanor Barrett Woods

Eleanor “Ellie” Barrett Woods, 85, passed away February 2, 2018 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ellie was born in Camden, New Jersey to the late Clarence and Anna Mae Barrett.  After graduating, she moved on to matriculate at Leigh Memorial School of Nursing.  She worked very hard to accomplish the feat of completing the program and being a nurse was her lifelong passion. Ellie loved to be of service to her patients at Obstetrics and Gynecology of Virginia Beach and gave them nothing but the best of care.  She loved working alongside her beloved colleagues as well.
Ellie was predeceased by her husband, Mark Elbert Woods and her brother Donald Barrett. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted children, Maryann Allen, Erich Woods and Karl Woods; granddaughters, Amanda, Meg, Ashley, Tina, Karis and Sarah and two great-granddaughters Kara, Brianna, Aubrey and Erin.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Eleanor’s life and legacy on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach. Condolences may be left for the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
