Elizabeth (Lisa) Renee Ballard, 54, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 24.

Lisa was born on November 10, 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Oak Park High School in Kansas City in 1985. She worked in various construction jobs over the years, most recently estimating jobs.

She is survived by her daughter Miranda (Mimi) Mendoza; sisters Jill Lawler and Cindy Gordon; brothers Billy, Jamie, Tommy and Andrew Ballard; father William Robert Ballard; mother Joan Quattlebaum; step-father Jim Quattlebaum; nine nieces; one nephew; one great nephew; many cousins, aunts, uncles and very close friends.

Lisa loved the beach and enjoyed being so close to the ocean. She was a great cook and had a green thumb. She spent many hours cooking and caring for her plants. She loved her family and friends dearly.

There are so many things we will miss about Lisa including her sense of humor, contagious laugh and witty personality. Although she is no longer here with us, her spirit will live on through all of the memories we have of her.

A formal service will be held at Gashland Baptist Church, located at 601 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, MO 64155, for friends and family on Saturday, June 19 at 4pm. A celebration of life will follow.

The family asks that memorial donations in memory of Lisa be made to your local pet shelter.
