Elvin was a good friend, a good man that will truly be missed by a multitude of people, especially his family. To know Elvin was a pure delight. Elvin was a gentle caring man who touched a many life during his lifetime. It could be said he never met a stranger for he could talk with just about anyone. I was lucky enough to have spent so time with him, talking to him hours on end Elvin loved to talk not doubt. We traded hunting dogs went on trips to buy hunting dogs. We took trip to the N.C.Mountains to buy some. Elvin knew a good dog just by looking at it. To really know Elvin you had to spend some time with him. I would have to say he was one of my favorite friends and I am very particular whom I call a favorite friend. He had my highest respect because of what he had endured growing up and all the other people he had to care for.I know he’s resting with the Lord and all his worries are over and he’s in heaven. May the family be blessed to have had Elvin in their family, may the family be comforted at this time we pray in the name of the lord. Rest in peace Elvin…

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Elvin. We played ball in his yard and Grandma and Granddaddy’s yard too. We went swimming in Hunter’s pond and he took turns throwing my brother, cousins, and me in the water. As we got older, I visited him when he wasn’t getting out much. He was a wonderful uncle. I will miss him.
