Ethel Kreicar

September 4, 1929 - June 17, 2021

Ethel B. Kreicar, of Newport News, passed away June 17, 2021, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernest F. Kreicar.

Ethel was a caring and gracious woman, sharing her love among her family and friends. She worked and taught cosmetology in her earlier years, later working for the American Cancer Society. While taking care of her family, she was an active member in her church at Northside Christian Church in Yorktown. Ethel served her church in many positions; such as Primary Sunday School Teacher and cooking for Wednesday nights meals. She was a talented seamstress and chef, who enjoyed sharing her talents with her family and friends. She also enjoyed canning, playing cards and gardening.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Allen Kreicar; her daughter Sharonne Needre (Steve); her sister, Mildred Lochstampfor; grandchildren, Shanon Kreicar, Ben Kreicar, Skylar Needre, Starr Needre; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, and their families.

A Visitation will take place on Monday, June 21 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, June 22 at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, beginning at 10 AM, followed by interment at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.

Memorial donations in Ethel’s honor may be made to the Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23693.
