A Loving Tribute …

Sunrise May 22, 1951 – Sunset April 18, 2020

Mr. Gary L. Venters, retired U. S. Army veteran, twenty years (20) gently closed his eyes around 11:30 A.M. at home in Newport News, Virginia and went to be with the Lord.

He is the darling son of Mrs. Effie Lee Venters Robinson of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Gary was married to the love of his life, Mrs. Virginia A. Keith for forty-three (43) blessed years. Their union in marriage was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Juanita and LaTarsha.

Gary, the awesome granddaddy, was truly blessed with Asia, Jada and Matthew Venters. The memories of their lives with him were truly uplifting and full of joy!!!

He was a loving father to his children, grandchildren and family.

Gary leaves his beloved siblings: Vancie Fonville of Jacksonville, N.C., NeKeshia Robinson of Charlotte, N. C., Vernon (Audrey) Venters of Jacksonville, N.C., Larry (Patricia) Venters of Cary, N. C., Deano Venters of Jacksonville, N. C. and Chris (Monica) Venters of Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Venters also leaves to cherish many fond memories his sister-in-laws, Christine Simpson (Ivy) of Currie, N. C., Tammy Scober (Hayes) of Burgaw, N. C., and Melinda Lewis Currie, N. C. His  brother-in-laws, James Keith (Annie) of Georgia, Winfred Keith (Anna) of Havelock, N. C., Jeffrey Keith of Burgaw, N. C., Gregory Keith of Arkansas, and Wayne Keith (Cathy) of Burgaw, N. C., a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Sincere thanks to the Lower Hospice nurses and staff for their dedicated services.

Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
