Guy Edward Daugherty Jr., “Boots”, 76, passed away at home on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Boots was born in Norfolk, VA on June 7th, 1944 to Guy Edward Sr. and Clara (Brown) Daugherty.
Boots graduated from Norview High School and Old Dominion University, where he played baseball. He was an avid longtime skier and golfer, had a big heart, incredible spirit and was loved by his large circle of friends.
He was a successful entrepreneur who started many well-known local businesses, including Ski Center, Bikini Hut and Affordable Tents.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joann Daugherty, and his son, Connor Schrock. The family would like to thank his loyal caregivers, Helena Wilson and Cathy Garris, who provided Boots & Joann with loving care and support in his final years. Boots was predeceased by his parents, and sister Carol Moon.
Due to the existing Coronavirus pandemic, funeral arrangements will be private. A celebration of life will be hosted for extended family and friends in the spring, at the Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club. Details to follow.

I've been looking over old pictures and newspaper clippings of our community league football days in 1962. Also Remembering the party's above your grandparents Trailer park office. All great memories. My sincere condolences to the family.
