Harold Lloyd Lyons

August 24, 1934 - March 2, 2021

Harold Lloyd Lyons, 87, passed away in his home on March 2, 2021 in Smithfield, Virginia. He was a native of Mobile, Alabama and a Virginia resident for 69 years. He was a Sheetmetal Supervisor for Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Rock Company, where he retired after serving 44 years. He liked sports and fishing, but most of all he loved working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren who knew him as “Cowpa.”

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn E. Lyons; and his parents, Harold W. and Bertie I. Lyons.

He is survived by his son, Hal Lyons (Becky); daughter Cori Howman (Robert); his grandsons Todd D. Lyons (Rachel), Caleb Lyons, Josiah Lyons and Max Howman; his great-grandaughter Bailey; his two great-grandsons Hank and Waylon Lyons; and his nephew Tim Justice.

Harold donated himself to science, but a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, March 14, 2021 at St. Luke’s Historic Church and Museum in Smithfield, Virginia.
