Harry Fontes Lamb was born in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital on January 17, 1961 to loving parents Harold E. and Aliete F. Lamb. He had a very happy childhood.
Harry attended Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia and then Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, graduating with a degree in Marketing.
Harry loved life and although he battled various illnesses, he worked at a variety of jobs, always doing the best he could. And he truly loved his mother and told everyone he met just how incredible she is.
He leaves behind a devoted loving mother, Aliete F. Sesler, a sister, Judy Lamb Stanley, as well as numerous cousins, friends and associates.
He was preceded in death by his father CWO 2 Harold E. Lamb and an amazing step-father, Captain Robert E. Gadrow.
He was assisted in his life later by a wonderful and wise step-sister, Roberta Murray.
He went to Heaven rejoicing that he would meet his savior Jesus Christ. He will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A celebration of life will take place for Harry at 3:00 PM on June 5, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked kindly that a donation in Harry’s name be made to Bayside Presbyterian Church (1400 Ewell Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.)

Harry F. Lamb loved music and was very knowledgeable about music: Beatles, Michael Jackson, John Denver, Stevie Nicks, Bee Gees and other musicians as well. He enjoyed golf and followed Tiger Woods and Curtis Strange as well as other golfers.
Harry appreciated Christie, Super smart Roberta, Ron, Brian , Ursula M., and his Greatest Angel Aliete and there were many others!

I met Harry several years ago and we hit it off instantly, not even knowing yet we had a connection from decades before. He had attended a summer camp run by my father and like a lot of kids had developed a bit of a hero. Having recently suffered a stroke, my dad was slowed a little but greatly enjoyed Harry’s stories about day camp. The three of us had lunch about once a month over these years until my dad passed away last August. Harry was very sad along with me and my family, but he would always say “you know we’ll all be reunited someday and there won’t be any pain or illness, just wonderful times and the love we all have for each other and the Lord.” Harry and I continued to talk often and have lunch together when possible. I consider him a dear friend, enjoyed his company immensely, and am devastated by his sudden passing. He talked often about his family, particularly his mom of course, and felt very lucky to have had those relationships and influences in his life.

Harry, my brother, was younger than me and very spiritual! He loved life, friends, music and the Lord Jesus Christ! He adored his Mother and always praised her name! Harry will live on in the hearts who knew him. He was a huge ODU fan and loved music and his neighbors Christie and Ursula to name a few. Ron H and Roberta M were his angels in good times and bad!

My brother was a very unique and caring fellow! He greeted most people with a smile and a blessing! His neighbors looked out for him and he enjoyed spending time with them! He loved the Lord and witnessed to those he met about the power of Jesus Christ and a mother’s love and unconditional devotion!
