Henry Fitzgerald “Jerry” Anderson left us peacefully last Saturday morning, January 11, 2020, after days of illness and years with debilitating ailments. A longtime musician, his main love, he performed for Capitol Records as a founding member of Mystic Merlin, and on stages in and outside of the country; he produced music, wrote music and loved when the music was “in the pocket”. He was also a much liked and requested instructor of computer and software classes at schools such as, Tidewater Tech/Centura College.
Only son of Madeline and Henry Anderson; nephew of Violet Greenwich and grandson of Lillian Richardson. Spouse, Deborah Anderson; son-in-law of Thelma Jones-Lopez and Jose Lopez; brother-in-law to Bruce Todmann, Stephen Todmann and Robert Jones, as well as uncle to Brian Anthony Jones, Jasmine Todmann and David Todmann. Bandmates, Barry Strutt, Clyde Bullard, Sly Randolph, Keith Richardson, Freddie Jackson.
Be at peace now. Let your soul rest. You are remembered, you mattered and your music is forever out there.
A service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel. 12893 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, Virginia 23608.
