Isabel M. Fly

November 20, 1920 - January 29, 2018

Isabel Fly, age 97, entered into eternity on January 29, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She preceded in death by her husband Captain William E. Fly as well as her parents Jose F. Morales and Isabel Gallardo and her beloved son Greg Fly.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Donald) Weiermann; niece Diane and nephew Van (Gloria); grandchildren Kurt, Lynn (Matt), Christina and Mark (Heather); great grandchildren Taylor Grace and Graham.

Isabel loved caring for her family. She was a skilled baker and cooked her husband and children their dinners with love. When she lived in Jacksonville, Florida, she served as a Girl Scout leader in her daughter’s troop.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed being apart of Grey Ladies Hospital Volunteering. Isabel was an early member Little Creek Chapel Altar Guild as well as a parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer and could be seen on many golf courses around Virginia Beach.

She was incredibly dedicated to God and to her church. Isabel was a devout Catholic and passed on the Catholic faith to her children.

During Captain Fly’s naval career including his time as commanding officer of the USS Essex, she was a most gracious hostess for many functions.

Isabel was a loving mother to her children and was a proud and devoted wife to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter North American Headquarters 450 Venard Rd. South Abington Township PA 18411.
