Jamie Salisbury passed on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his home in Virginia Beach Virginia. He was 68 years old. Jamie is preceded in death by his son Michael Edward Salisbury, his father Wendell and Blu his dog and constant companion. Jamie was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He graduated from Ironton High School in Ohio in 1970. His family announced the death.
Jamie was born James Edward Salisbury on December 31, 1952 in Ironton, Ohio to parents Wendell and Frances Salisbury. He is survived by his daughter Jamie Lynn Matthews and her mother Kathy Hickman Darby, his mother Frances Salisbury, along with his three siblings, Lisa (Marty) Wood, Wendy (Jeff) Harper and Joe (Padma) Salisbury. He further leaves behind five grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Katelyn, and Madison Matthews and Michael Dezmond and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Jamie began his working career in the family business “Shake Shoppe” in Ironton while still in school. He then began a life-time career in 1971 in the Newport News Shipyards quickly working his way up to supervisor of the Sandblasting and Coating Department (X33). He further traveled throughout working almost every shipyard in this country during his vast career. Jamie was indeed a serious fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles, Hank Williams Jr. songs and his favorite movie was Pulp Fiction. Jamie will be dearly missed by all.
