Jeanette A. Brittingham

July 17, 1935 - January 5, 2021

Jeanette A . Brittingham (nee Chapman), age 85, a longtime resident of Darby, passed peacefully Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Virginia Beach.

Born and raised in Mt. Carmel, PA Jeanette was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (nee Tresfsgar) Chapman.

Mrs. Brittingham was a longtime member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Darby, where she worked as the church secretary and rectory manager for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother and Mom-Mom.

Along with her parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph A. Brittingham, who died in 2015.

She is survived by her daughters, Roseann Brittingham Burton (Robert “Bob”) and Sharon Brittingham Sechrist (Timothy “Tim”). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert E. Burton, Jr. (Samantha), Joseph A. Burton (Heatherlynn), Shannon Sechrist Lowe (Jeffery), Rebecca Burton Schepis (Francis “Frank”), Timothy Sechrist, Jr., David Sechrist (Tabitha), John Burton (Ashley), and Jeanette Burton Olivares (Alexander “Alex”); her great-grandchildren, Justin, Stephanie, Hollie, Raelyn, Frankie, Joshua, Jack, Luke, Amanda, Jameson, Mason, Matt, Dalton, Sophia, Cassidy, Joey, Jacob, and Hazel; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1101 Main Street, Darby, PA. There will be a Viewing in church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions In Jeanette’s Memory to Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1101 Main St., Darby, PA 19023 would be appreciated by the family.

**In our due diligence to keep the family safe, those planning on attending the services will be asked to adhere to the current social distancing guidelines and also be required to wear masks.**
