Jeffrey David Livengood

March 27, 1967 - December 11, 2021

Jeffrey David Livengood passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021 at the age of 54, from health complications following a severe stroke this past summer. He is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father, Russell Livengood.

Jeff was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1967. He graduated High School in 1985 in Boise, Idaho. He went on to attend Boise State University where he proudly played in the Blue Thunder Marching Band. Music was such a central part of Jeff’s life. As a young adult he toured as a professional drummer with a rock band, and later in life he had been a beloved member of the chancel choir at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, serving as their drummer for many years.

Jeff enjoyed his early years in Colorado and California. He grew up as an avid outdoorsman. He loved football, camping, fishing, hunting and boating. Some of his most cherished memories were fishing for hours alongside his father Russ.

Jeff also lived in Idaho where he met the love of his life, Karin Rogers. They shared many interests and passions and had many adventures together.

Jeff and Karin married in 2001 and found their new home in Virginia in 2002. In 2011, they welcomed their little boy Brayden Rix Livengood into the world. Anyone who knows this family, knows Brayden’s life is a miracle and a true gift from God. He quickly became the center of Jeff’s world. The two shared an interest in model railroading and a deep love of music. It was Jeff’s encouragement and musical influence that led his son to become a student and performer for The Hurrah Players, Inc and the Virginia Opera.

Jeff leaves behind his loving family. He is survived by his Wife Karin, Son Brayden, Mother Shirley Livengood, Sister Kelly Craig (Ron) and Brother Gregg (April). Jeff is also remembered by his Nieces and Nephews Ethan Craig (Rebecca), Sydney Craig, Mason Livengood, Avaerie Livengood and Osborne Livengood. His extended family who love and miss him include Mother in Law Barbara Rogers, Siblings in law Mark Rogers, Scott Rogers (Lisa), Susan Wolfe (Joel), Debbie Rogers (Tibbs) and numerous niece and nephews in law.  He will also be very fondly remembered by an extensive network of friends, particularly those affiliated with Lynnhaven United Methodist Church and Hurrah Players.

May Jeff forever be at peace, free of pain and suffering, while enjoying a new life of adventure and beauty. He is likely sitting in a fishing boat with his Dad as he awaits the time when we will meet again. God rest his soul and bless him abundantly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s honor to organizations that have been incredibly important to Jeff and his family, The Hurrah Players Inc. and Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. If you would like to donate in his honor to further medical research, please give to the American Heart and Stroke Association.

A memorial service will be held for Jeffrey at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church at 1033 Little Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 on Saturday January 29, 2022 at 11:00am.
