Jeffrey R. Merrick, 34, passed away December 28, 2018. He was born on June 5, 1984 in Pennsylvania, and was a lifelong resident of York County.  Jeff graduated from Tabb High School in 2002. Many people recognized him as a hard working person, who had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He was a very loyal brother and friend.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved grandpa Johnny Allen; His Papou and Memaw Terry and Faye Poulos; and his fur babies Midnight, Lena, Mozzy, and Dixie.
He is survived by his” lil bubba”, son Ethan Jeffrey Burton; his loving parents, Frank and Billie Brewer; brother Ajay;  sister Jordan; his niece Gracelyn; nephew Gabriel; his meme, Marge Allen; his aunts Bobbie Harris(Robert), DeAnna Kimrey(Jay), and Nia Carpenter; his uncles Dan Roberts, Gus Poulos, and Mark Dean;
his cousins Amber and Haley Roberts, Cory and Ryan Tabor, Jason Kimrey, Kevin, Timmy and Stephi Carpenter, Michael Dean, and Allen Brown; and his many friends near and far.
A memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 4pm at the Salvation Army Chapel, 5560 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach. A Celebration of Life will be held on Jeffrey’s 35th birthday in June. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and many acts of kindness. In lieu of flowers we would like donations made to Hampton Roads Salvation Army ARC Virginia Beach Va. in Jeffrey’s name. Riverside-Altmeyer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
