Jerold Porter Register, Jr.

September 22, 1960 - August 13, 2021

Jerold Porter Register Jr, 60, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 in his home in Virginia Beach, VA. Jerold was born September 22, 1960 to Jerry Porter Register and Willie Catherine Register in Bladen County, North Carolina and grew up in Elizabethtown. He was a graduate of East Bladen High School.
Jerold met the love of his life, Maria Linda Nascimento, while he was working for a dredging company in the Hampton Roads area. They married and bought a home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Register’s union brought forth a single child, Jerold Nadson Register. He adored his wife and her ability to grow anything out of the earth. He loved his family deeply, even his dogs Sugar and Layla.
He was very popular in high school and everyone loved his crazy sense of humor. He was a hard worker. He often helped farmers out on their farms during the summertime. A few of his classmates remember working with him during the summer and state that he kept them laughing all summer. He never harmed anyone. Except a few of his sister’s boyfriends maybe! He was very fond of water sports growing up. He was with the Ski Heels based in White Lake, North Carolina. He enjoyed being in the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. He was very kind. Had a way of telling stories that was really fun. Everyone enjoyed listening to his stories.
Jerold was predeceased by his father and his mother. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Maria; son Nadson; sister Lisa Register McKellar; brothers Chris Register and Erik Register; along with a large extended and loving family.
