Jose Alfredo Rivera

January 1, 1971 - March 13, 2020

Jose Alfredo Rivera, 49, passed away in Virginia Beach, VA on Friday, March 13, 2020.  Jose was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Luis Rivera, Sr. and Carmen Morales; he is predeceased by his father, Luis Rivera.  Jose is cherished in memory by his wife and life partner, Cindy Billups; children, Meagan and Michelle Rivera; mother, Carmen Morales Mena; siblings, Luis Rivera (Chris Baumgarten), Claudia Pettingill (Jeff) and Henry Rivera (Liz Delgado) as well as many other family members and close friends.  Jose can be best described as a true family man; he was a devoted husband and father.

His drive and motivation led him to become a successful entrepreneur; he started his own construction company, Mid-Atlantic Building Services, LLC.  A Virginia Beach resident, since 1989, he was committed to his team of employees, and the Tidewater community.  An avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan, seeing them win at the last World Series was a highlight.  As an entrepreneur, leader, brother, son, father and husband, Jose could have a stoic facade, and yet underneath was a compassionate man who cared deeply for the wellbeing of his loved ones and those around him.

The family will be having services, in honor of Jose, at a later date.  As an expression of your sympathies, donations may be made to Jose’s children to assist them during this difficult time by CLICKING HERE.
