Joseph Christopher Minor, 47, passed away suddenly on December 10th, 2019.
He was born December 31st, 1971 in Great Lakes, Illinois. He was a 1990 graduate of Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Joe served proudly in the U.S. Army, as an Airborne Infantry Platoon Leader. After his Army enlistment was complete, he joined the Coast Guard, where he served there for 16 years, retiring as an MKC. Joe was an avid reader, gym goer, and handyman. He was a lover of cold weather and 80s hair metal, and hater of bad drivers and loose pennies.
He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Minor. He is survived by his children, Emily, Riley, and Jack Minor; his mother, Claire Minor; his sisters, Sara Riley and Lauren Riner (Troy); his Grandmother, Rebecca W. Minor; his nephew Jacob Minor; his nieces Leah and Abigail Riner, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He left this world before his time, and will be sorely missed by many.

I served with thousands of soldiers throughout my 26 years of military service, and forgot almost every one of them. Joe Minor was one of those guys whose bigger-than-life personality and sense of humor are impossible to forget. My condolences to all family members left behind, and Joe: see you in Valhalla, Airborne!
