Joseph David White Sr., 71, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and later was a foreman at GPC Cheatham Annex. He was a member of the USCG CPO Association, a ham operator (KC4VPT) and enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, cooking barbecue and drinking beer. He loved his grandson, NASCAR (especially the Earnhardts) and was a Carolina Tar Heel fan, through and through.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary I. White, and his son, Brian L. White, he is survived by his son, Joseph “Jody” White, and his grandson, Loyce B. White.
Memorial donations may take the form of contributions to The American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
Altmeyer Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Mike worked with Joe at GPC for many years. He was a real character, but a good guy.
Carolyn has memories of Christmas parties that Joe and his wife used to attend. we are so sorry for your loss and know God will bless him always.

So very sorry, Jody and Loyce.
Glad you put the part about Uncle Joe liking to barbecue and boating. I will never forget coming to Florida and sailing and eating amazing barbecue.
