Joshua “Josh” Adam Sessoms, 42, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home in Hampton, Virginia.
Josh Sessoms was born on November 20, 1978, in Lumberton, NC, to Timothy Sessoms and Margaret Hinson. He attended public schools in Cumberland County and was a graduate of South View High School. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army. After serving his country, Josh followed in his father’s footsteps becoming a licensed electrician. He loved the outdoors, cooking, and wood-working. Josh had a tremendous heart and loved making people laugh. Most of all, he loved his children.
Josh is survived by his children, Connor Sessoms and Shelby Sessoms of Anchorage, AK; father, Timothy Sessoms of Raeford, NC; mother Margaret (Buford) Hinson, of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Brian (Eleana) Sessoms of Morrisville, NC; and grandmother, Peggy Johnson of Matthews, NC. Josh is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lester and Dorothy “Bubbie” Sessoms and Garnette Johnson.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only.

Josh, You are one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. You had a huge heart and I will remember all the good times and conversations we had when our families would get together. You will be forever missed. My heart goes out to Aunt Margaret, Brian, Tim, Connor and Shelby.
So sorry for your loss. Josh was too young and you and Tim shouldn’t have to endure this. I am so so sorry. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers and thoughts and I think of ya’ll often. Love to all!
Hey now Josh, you will be missed buddy. I want to thank you for being my friend, you helped me through so much, even in the crazy world around us. I will always remember our conversations and the woodworking projects. Someday I will get that hutch done..lol. Rest easy my friend and we will meet again. Walk with God now and be in peace.
