Joshua Russell Lorencz

May 7, 1992 - September 20, 2017

Joshua Lorencz, age 25, went to be with the angels on September 20, 2017. He was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina to David Lorencz and Melissa Draper. Joshua joined the United States Marine Corps on November 2, 2011. He attended boot camp at MCRD San Diego, California followed by Intelligence School. He was soon deployed to Afghanistan and was then stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 3 years. Upon his return to the States, Joshua became an intelligence instructor at the Marine Corps Detachment, Dam Neck Annex of Oceana.

Joshua was also a Marine Corps  Martial Arts Program Instructor as he himself held a black belt. He was also just accepted to the MAIT Course to become a Red Tab Instructor. There were so many things in life that Joshua loved; hunting deer, salmon fishing in Lake Michigan, wood working, snow boarding, golf, video games, watching Michigan State and Detroit Lions games, and loving his fur babies.

Left to forever cherish his memory is his wife of 3 1/2 years Lexie Lorencz; his father David Lorencz; mother Melissa Draper; step mom Ginger Lorencz; siblings Brian James Lorencz, Joshua Dale Miller and Matthew David Lorencz; fur babies Spartan and Athena plus many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In just a short amount of time, Staff Sergeant Joshua Lorencz impacted many young lives as a caring leader and mentor. He will be dearly missed by the many who loved him.

Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
