Juan Aybar went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 4, 2021, in Virginia Beach, Virginia surrounded by his loving family. Juan was born September 1st, 1960, to Guillermo and Carmela Aybar in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He grew up in the Bronx and graduated from William Howard Taft High School in 1978 in the Bronx. He was also a member of the New York Yankees during their championship years early 1980.
Later on, while living in Washington Heights, he met the love of his life Belkys. From there they started their family which would grow to become include seven children over time. They later relocated to Virginia Beach with their two youngest children. There they owned multiple businesses over time including a store, a restaurant and currently Belkys Salon. He worked at the Breeden company for many years where he made many achievements and many friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips with his family, working on his home and being at his church. He was a long-time member of the Ebenezer Church in Norfolk which he loved being a part of. He was the leader of the Pro-Building fund, the Ushers, Plena, and the Men’s Ministry. His devotion to Christ was untiring. He truly was man of God who put his family first and took care of everyone he could. He always gave away what he had and offered his time to those who needed him. He is irreplaceable and will be greatly missed by us all.
In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Juan was predeceased by his brother Rafelito. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Belkys; his seven children, Juan Francisco, Leonela, Maria Estela, Kimberly, Jonathan, Destiny, Ashley, and Chanel; granddaughters Amaya and Soleil; his sister Carmen, and Brothers, Freddy and Willie and. He left behind many cousins, nephews, nieces, and loving friends.
A visitation will be held from 7:30-8:30 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021, at IDD Ebenezer, 745 Pecan Point Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 1:00pm at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N Witchduck Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Condolences may be left for the family below.
