Kathy Mary Semar, 55, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.  She was born September 24, 1962 in Cumberland, MD and was the daughter of Eugene Semar and Charlotte Dolan who predecease her.  Surviving are her sisters, Eileen Hanson and Charlotte August; brothers, Gene and Edward Semar; and her beloved kitty, Sawyer.
Kathy worked for the City of Virginia Beach, starting her career In the Department of Public Utilities Control Center on April 1, 1987.  Kathy was selected to be one of the main technology experts for the DPU Operations Division on December 16, 1998 where she remained until her passing.  Her knowledge and expertise of many applications made her the “go-to” person that the department and other City departments called on for assistance.

What our families say...

In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
