CHESAPEAKE – Kathleen “Kay” Owens Dickerson, 93, died May 8, 2020.  Kay was born in Norfolk to the late George Dewey Owens and Sadie Caleo Owens.  She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church where she belonged to the Legion of Mary.  Kay spent many years volunteering with various organizations to include Meals on Wheels, the American Red Cross and for the voting polls.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harold G. “Jack” Dickerson; grandson, Christopher Dickerson; and siblings, Leona Chappell and James Owens.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Harold G. Dickerson Jr. (Helen) of Providence Forge,  Deborah Napier (James) of Chesapeake, and David Dickerson (Annette) of Chesapeake;  brother, George “Sonny” Owens (Peggy) of Chesapeake; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Nelia and David’s Adult Home Care and Ruth’s Care for providing wonderful care for mom.  Mom loved her caregiving family, especially Thelma, Aiah, David, Arianne, Matthew, Ruth and Adam.

Services will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.  Express condolences to the family below.
