Kyle David Trax, 29 passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday evening, April 15th. Kyle leaves behind his loving family and many friends in the Virginia Beach and Richmond area. Kyle graduated from Kellam High School and received his degree in Political Science at Old Dominion University. Kyle was employed at a local Richmond Restaurant, En Su Boca, and was very passionate about his music. He was a drummer for several Richmond Bands including the Cherry Pits and Benderheads. When he was in High School the entire neighborhood knew when the Warhawks were practicing. He was introduced to surfing at an early age and actually rode the very first wave he caught all the way to the beach. Kyle loved surfing Sandbridge, the Outer Banks and Costa Rica where we made many family trips with his beloved sister Rebecca and friends. He was famous for late take-offs in gnarly shore break with mixed results. Kyle is predeceased by his grandmother Annette Scanlon; and grandparents David and Margret Trax.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Kimberley and David Trax; his sister, Rebecca Meredith Trax; his grandfather, Francis Scanlon; aunt, Cindy Scanlon Cook; uncle, Bryan and Edye Trax; and his cousins, William, Lauren and Regan Trax. Kyle adored his two adopted cats, Fish and Skylar. Rebecca had just drawn a beautiful caricature of Fish banging on Kyle’s drum set for his recent birthday. A paddle-out in Kyle’s honor will be announced at a later date. The family would appreciate memorial donations in his name go to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. We will never ever stop loving and missing our son and brother Kyle.
Online condolences may be left to the family below.
A Paddle-Out in Kyle’s honor will be planned for June 2018. More information to come.
