Letitia Dolores "Tish" Cunningham

November 7, 1935 - August 10, 2017

Letitia Dolores Rose “Tish” “Mimi” Cunningham, 81, passed away suddenly but peacefully on August 10, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born in New York, New York. While attending Florida State University, she met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Cunningham. Together, they raised six children while Chuck served in the United States Air Force for 33 years. She herself continued her education, earning her undergraduate degree in business and her master’s degree in human resources.

Tish was a loving, kind, generous woman whose gracious presence touched all who encountered her. She was completely devoted to her husband and children, yet she was equally dedicated to her Catholic church and faith. She lived life to the fullest and found great joy in feeding her family and loving the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, a brother, two daughters, three sons, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Visitation, including the praying of the rosary, will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel on Monday, August 14 from 6-8pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 15 at 10 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to St. Pius X School.

What our families say...

In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
