Linda Elaine Simonds, age 70 of Portsmouth, VA went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband Joe, daughter Crystal and Tito as well as her dogs Max and Pandora.
She was the daughter of the late Lillian and Jesse Jones Sr. of Portsmouth, VA. Linda is preceded in death by her brother Jesse L. Jones Jr., as well as George & Judy M. Knott. Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years; Joseph Simonds, Sr. son Joseph A. Simonds, Jr., his 3 sons Christopher, Joshua and his wife Katie, Alex and his wife Felecia and their brand new baby boy Tristian & his wife Tena, & her 2 grand children Damon and TayTay., son Jeffrey L. Simonds, & his 4 daughters; Kari Ann & her husband James Soden U.S.N.& their 2 children Alex and Rosalie, Jessica and her 2 daughters Ashley & Summer, Lily & Elizabeth of NC, her daughter Crystal Crockett and her partner in life Tito Perez and her 2 children Nicholas Alder of Portsmouth and Timothy and his wife Neva of Iowa, beloved and cherished sister Susan and her husband Fred Hemmings of Cape Charles, VA,, Linda has a large Simonds family residing in Massachusetts. Richard & and Judy of Wrentham, MA., Robert (deceased) & Claire of Dedham MA., Edward & Hanna of Mashapee, MA., William & Maryann of Mansfield, MA., Mary Simonds of Phoenix, AZ. & a host of nieces and nephews including all their children.
Linda has made many good friends in the VA Charitable Bingo Industry, working 20 plus years for Charlie Daniels & made many friends in Police and Sheriff Departments throughout the Tidewater area. Linda always loved Stefanie Simonds, Elizabeth Simonds and Charles Alder. She always held them in her heart.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Linda Simonds to the Portsmouth Humane Society. Anyone who knew Linda also knew – she loved all animals, even little .25 cent turtles!
There will be a graveside service this Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Olive Branch Cemetery located at 2 Cpl. J. M. Williams Avenue Portsmouth, Virginia 23701 at 11:00 am. After the service the family will be 216 Jacquelyn Drive Portsmouth,VA to receive visitors.
