Chesapeake – Linda Suzette Cooper, 63, died October 14, 2015.  Linda was born in Ohio to the late James M. and Rebecca Armbruster Rees.  She had worked as a CPA in her own practice for 10 years.  Linda was vibrant, vivacious, and always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.  She was an exceptional human being, who had integrity and ethics above most.  She was a friend to all and will be sorely missed by family, friends and clients.  A huge hole was left in our hearts.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 17 years, Willis Gehurman Cooper; children, Matthew MacCorkle, Jessica Sweatman, Amanda Meyers, Christine Hutchison, and Marc Cooper;  brother, Richard Rees; grandchildren, Chloe MacCorkle, Tucker and Weston Sweatman, Paul Orlino, Sean Hurley, and Rachel LaBelle;  great grandchildren, Alex LaBelle, Bennett Orlino, and Gabriel Hurley; and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.

Linda was a special “angel” for us…she always, always showed us nothing but love and friendship, we thank God that he allowed our paths to cross. God please grant the family peace.

The Rose
Beyond the Wall

A rose once grew
Where all could see,
Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
It spread its branches, straight and tall,

One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide-
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side…

Now, You who deeply feel its loss,
Be comforted –the rose blooms there –
Its beauty even greater now,
Nurtured By God’s own loving care,

Expressing heartfelt sympathy
In the loss that you must bear,
And may you find some comfort
In the thought that others care.
