CHESAPEAKE – Lori Jean Hanley, 60, died June 27, 2021, at her home in Chesapeake, VA, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Lori was born March 19, 1961, in Greenfield, MA, to the late Katherine Becklo. It was here she met and married her childhood sweetheart – James L Hanley III (Jamie). Her nurturing and loving nature drove her career towards nursing. It was this passion for life that she brought to her husband, his career, and their two children – Nicholas and Christopher. Committed to her family, and a true Navy wife, she led them through over forty arduous years of military service and worldwide moves – even in Jamie’s deployed absence. She kept her home as well as her family, managing to make every new house a home with her passion for interior design.

Lori will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 37 years, James Hanley; her sons, Nicholas Hanley (Angelica) of Jacksonville, FL and Christopher Hanley of Brunswick, GA; her brothers, Carl Becklo of Richmond, NH and Michael Becklo (Francine) of Winnabow, NC; and a host of family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Chesapeake, immediately followed by a celebration of life service. Express condolences to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. Lori was always a very positive and happy friend. I’m glad to have known her and we had many fun times in our Greenfield days. She was taken too soon.
