Luba Coutras

February 24, 1930 - April 1, 2020

02/24/1930 - 04/01/2020

On Wednesday April 1, 2020, Luba Coutras (90) gained her heavenly wings. Luba was the most kindhearted person you would have the pleasure of knowing. Her love for God always shined through and she would eagerly share how Jesus helped throughout her life. This included helping her survive the Holocaust of WWII and the Nazi work camp, to her family immigrating to the United States after the war.  Luba’s birthplace was Pinxs, Poland, however, she eventually immigrated to the United States from Germany. Once in the United States she then met and married her late husband Alexander Coutras. She served the Lord whole hardily and made God a priority in her life.
Luba is preceded in Death by her devoted husband of 59 years, parents, and all her siblings.
Luba is survived by her 3 children: Steve (Jean) Coutras, Virginia (John) Domnissey, and Joseph (Kathy) Coutras. Her 7 Grandchildren: Mathew (Kelly) Coutras, Lisa (David) Terris, Andrew (Eileen) Coutras Veronika Domnissey, Amber Domnissey, JulieAnne Domnissey, and Idazia (John) Clark.
As well as her 7 Great Grandchildren: Zoe, Alyvia, Ethan, Haven, Phoebe, Hayden and Anthony.
We politely ask that you hold off on sending flowers as we will not be having a memorial service for a couple of months due to Covid-19.

I shall miss sweet Luba very much. She was a powerful prayer warrior. I had the privelage of working for her and listened to the stories about “Grandma” and some of her holocaust stories. Now she is wearing golden slippers and walking God’s highways of gold! I love you Miss Luba !

Luba will always be remembered for her sweet smile, love and devotion to her precious Lord, and her unconditional love for her family. She was part of our Intercessory Prayer team at church and she will be missed greatly. Praying for her children during this difficult time.

Luba was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Virginia Beach on Providence Rd. She was kind and always positive. It was good to know someone that survived the Holocaust and immigrated to America and raised her family successfully. The other miracle I know that occurred in her life; she had a medical issue about four years ago and she was diagnosed to only live a few more months. She continued to come to church for another four years and shared her joy with the church. Luba was blessed.
