Marc Ryan Calindas, 43, affectionately known as Kuya Ryan, Uncle Marc, Ryan, or Markie, was taken too soon on July 27, 2021 in Glen Allen, Virginia. Born in Naples, Italy and raised in General MacArthur E. Samar, Philippines during his early childhood years, Marc later emigrated to the U.S. in Virginia.

An ingenious creative and divergent thinker, Marc’s artistic talent was a reflection of brilliance in all of his work. Marc earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. From doodling realistic portraits on table napkins to pieces submitted in art shows, he made a living doing what he loved most- to create. He was a magnificent graphic designer and freelance photographer, capturing the beauty of the world around him through his travels and cherished moments.Marc Ryan was loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his parents Wilma and Enrique Orbeta, Fernando Fabian; siblings Michele (Veronica and Vanessa), Erica, Dixie, Kirsten, Kendra, and Kathalina.

A viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach.

Contributions to Marc’s memory may be made to the Marc R. Calindas Memorial Fund.
