Margrett Ann Hunt, 64, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. She was born in Florida to the late John and Peggy Mooradian. She retired from teaching public education in 2017.
Margrett was a member of The Point Baptist Church of Pensacola, FL, under the watch care of Virginia Beach Beacon Baptist Church. Margrett held a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York, Oswego, and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Milligan College in Elizabethton, TN. She was a member of the Phi Lambda Phi sorority. She taught Kindergarten through 2nd Grade in public schools in Mount Pleasant, SC, Johnson City, TN, Cincinnati, OH, and Knoxville, TN. Margrett’s lifelong passion was teaching children to read and loved to observe in them the moment when “the light bulb came on”. She was a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed traveling and loved the beach. Following retirement, she enjoyed two years living in a beachfront condominium on Perdido Key, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol Phillips and is survived by her husband, Robert A. “Bob” Hunt; son, Elliot Hunt and wife Lena; daughter, Madeline Presson and husband Evn; seven grandchildren, Finley, Hollen, Eden and Rylan Hunt and Elijah, Adelaide and Edison Presson; two brothers, John (and Maria) Mooradian and Allen (and Cindi) Mooradian; and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Avenue, Virginia Beach on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm with a Celebration of Life service to start at 6:30pm. Inurnment will be at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia.
