Marie Willoughby Elvington

July 7, 1928 - April 4, 2021

Marie Elvington, 92, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.  Marie was known for her strong faith in Jesus Christ.  She was a lifelong member of Riverside Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and volunteered in various roles.  God opened doors to provide a civil service career for Marie as a secretary.  She worked her way up and retired as a contract specialist for the U.S. Army at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years and the love of her life, McKeithan “Keith” Elvington; her parents Alvin Willoughby and Elizabeth Overman Willoughby Bissette; son Harvey Ferrell and daughter Elizabeth Anne Morton; and brothers J.D. Willoughby and Chris Evans.  She is survived by her children Lisa Tatem, Brenda England, and Steve Ferrell; stepchildren Anita Steele, Mac Elvington, and Greg Elvington; sister Doris Peele; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Psalm 16:11 “…in God’s presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”

Visitation at 10:30-11:30 and funeral service at 11:30 on Saturday April 10 at Riverside Baptist Church.  Graveside service at 1 pm at Peninsula Memorial Park.
