Virginia Beach – Mark Steven Gowan, 55, died January 2, 2016.  Mark was born in Warwick, RI to Paulette S. Gowan and the late Donald E. Gowan.  He enjoyed caring for his family and spending time with and helping his neighbors and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Denise Borte (David) of Norfolk, Mark E. Gowan (Carla) of Virginia Beach, and Brandi Gowan (Kris) of Norfolk; his mother, Paulette S. Gowan of Virginia Beach; siblings, Donna Mizrachi (Yehuda), Helen Harris (Dana), and Arthur Gowan, all of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Trey, Quinn, Ethan, and Bennett; and host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel on Thursday from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.  A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at Princess Anne Memorial Park with Pastor Chuck Haley officiating.  Donations to help the family with funeral expenses may be made at www.gofundme.com/6fh924nw.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.

Payton and I was so sad to hear of Mark’s passing. He was a hard working man who took pride in his work and one who would help anyone he could. We had a lot of fun together and we will truly miss him. Rest in peace and may God take care of your family. Dolly n Payton
