Marlowe B. Tabaniag

March 21, 1962 - September 10, 2021

Marlowe “Lowe” Tabaniag, 59, of Newport News, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Anne Tabaniag; father, Teodulo Tabaniag; and his sister, Melecia Tabaniag.
He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and retired from Civil Service – Department of Transportation, after almost 36 years of service.
Lowe was born in San Nicolas, Philippines and graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu, HI. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and home improvements projects. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking at family gatherings and was an avid gardener. Lowe is best remembered as a kind-hearted and generous man, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Survivors include his wife, Gina M. Tabaniag; his sons, Harris Tabaniag (Gracey) and Jeremy Tabaniag (Bianca); his daughter, Melissa Tabaniag; his siblings, Robert Tabaniag (Myriam), Delfin Tabaniag, Evelyn Mabalay (Virgilio), Catherine Capili (Conrado), Jose Tabaniag, Jesse Tabaniag (Josephine); and his grandchildren, Mai, Qaseem, Aiden, Giovanni, Jasmine, Joshua, Makai, Anai, Harris Jr, Lyjah and Mason Li.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21st at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass Services will follow on Wednesday, September 22nd at St Jerome Catholic Church, 116 Denbigh Blvd., in Newport News at 11:00 AM. Lowe will be laid to rest with his daughter Kelly, at Peninsula Memorial Park at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 27th.
