Martha M. Justice, Retired U.S. Army and Retired U.S. Air Force Contracting Officer, died peacefully on September 18, 2017, following a brief battle with cancer.
Martha attended high school in Princess Ann, MD, and then went on to attend college at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. Later in life, Martha entered the U.S. Army, where after the completion of Advanced Individual Training, she was stationed at Fort Eustis, VA, where she met her husband, Ronnie R. Justice (U.S. Army Ret.). Together they raised two children while stationed at home and abroad. Her overseas military assignments included tours in Seoul, South Korea; Bosnia, Herzegovina; Mannheim, Germany and two tours in Heidelberg, Germany. Martha earned numerous awards from the NATO Supreme Allied Command, United States Army and United States Air Force.
After retiring from the military, Martha earned her Bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo College, her Master’s degree from Florida Institute of Technology and went to work as a Procurement Analyst for HQ, Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base. Martha was an active member of Calvary Chapel in Newport News and was loved by all that she touched and worked with.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bertha Waters; brother, Litdell Holmes, Sr. and sister, Gloria Wittington.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 35 years, Ronnie Justice; son, Ronnie Justice, Jr.; daughter, Raeshawn Little-John and husband, Christopher of Chesterfield, sisters, Pastor Dr. Gladys Johnson of Chance, MD, Elma Corbin of Crisfield, MD, and Linda Croswell of Newport News; brother, James Croswell of Princess Ann, MD; granddaughter, Makayla Justice of Hampton and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Cancer Infusion Center, Riverside Hospice and many friends for all their support.
Family will receive friends Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel. Viewing for family and friends will be conducted Monday, September 25 at Calvary Chapel, 361 Beechmont Drive, Newport News, 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. service . Interment will follow in Albert G.
