Marvin E. Rosensteel

January 31, 1943 - January 18, 2021

Gunnery Sargent Marvin E. Rosensteel, USMC Retired passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, 18 January 2021.  He was born 31 January 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida.  He joined the Marine Corps at seventeen and graduated boot camp from Paris Island.  He served two tours in Vietnam while on active duty.  His favorite duty stations were Quantico, Virginia and Camp Pendleton, California.  He retired from active duty from NWS Yorktown.

He is survived by his daughter, Mindy; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jennifer; and their two children, Zoie and Levi.  Marvin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both fishing and hunting.  He passed the love of both activities to his children.  He served as hunt captain while stationed at NWS Yorktown.  He also taught a bow hunter safety course for Newport News Park.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
