MCPO Remigio P. Daus

February 6, 1937 - April 18, 2021

Remigio P. Daus, 84, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on April 18, 2021, surrounded by his family at Sentara Leigh Hospital. He was born on February 6, 1937 to Florencia and Bernardo Daus in Baguio, Philippines.

Remigio enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964 and was a Master Chief Petty Officer. He loved the military and proudly served for over 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Remigio is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Maria Daus (mother of Gemirald and Arlene); brothers, Villamor Daus and Arsenio Daus of the Philippines; sisters, Azucena Daus, of Canada, Julie Binavince of the Philippines, and Lilia Woody of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 23 years, Hazel Daus; sons, Nicolas Daus, Joseph Daus, Gemirald Daus of Arlington, VA; and daughter, Arlene Willis (John), of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Spenser Willis and Kayleigh Willis; sisters, Nanita Hidalgo, of Australia and Felicitas Milanes, of the Philippines; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 23rd from 5-9 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 24th at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 154 W Government Ave, followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1800 Granby St, Norfolk.
