Our beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was given her angel wings on Friday, Feb 26, 2021.
Melaneice was born to Daryl Mabrey and Birran Jones on June 4, 1988, in Suffolk, VA. She attended and graduated from Lakeland High School in 2006.
She was passionate about caring for others especially children. She operated a successful private daycare. Melaneice was a loving, caring, and charming wife, sister, daughter, and friend with an unmatched faith in God. She lived every day of her life to the fullest. She was the backbone of her household, a virtuous woman – constantly on her knees interceding on behalf of her family. She found a way of squeezing the joy out of every day and she graceful shimmered a positive vibe every day of her life.
She was an excellent cook. Her dream was to have a bunch of kids, own a house with a garden. She loved her spoiled four legged son “Bentley”.
We will certainly miss her laughter, humor, and sincerity. She expressed herself through writing….she wrote a book expressing her endless love for her family titled “My Reasons Why”. She overcame numerous obstacles in her lifetime and earned the title of a “warrior”. She never allowed her health challenges to deter her from leading a fulfilled life. When the situation became critical, she’d often say “It’s okay baby” with a keen sense of assurance and enthusiasm. She was a loveable, faithful, and committed woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Melaneice leaves to treasure her memory; her husband, Rawlings Ozeh; her parents Darryl Mabrey (father), Darryl Artis (step-father), Birran Jones (mother); fifteen siblings – Erica Mabrey, Treasie Artis
Geoffrey Outlaw, Eleanor Outlaw, Telia Outlaw, Lynntia Evans, Tory Holloway
Dyrell Frazier, Caraneika Twine ,Travis Johnson, DaQuanda Mabrey, Mercedes Winston, Darryl Mabrey Jr, LaToya Mabrey
and DaQwon Mabrey.
She was loved and cherished by her friends and neighbors as well.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, 11:00 am at First Church of Newport News (Baptist) 2300 Wickham Ave, N.N VA, 23607. Repast will be held from 3:00 pm at Sleepy Hole Park, Suffolk, VA 23435
