CHESAPEAKE – Moxie Joy Jessee went home to be with the Lord January 18, 2022.  Moxie was the daughter of Nicholas “Nick” Jessee and Cassandra “Cassie” Jessee.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Nick and Cassie; paternal grandparents, Gregory D. Wayne and Cindy Dunkum Jessee of Chesapeake; maternal grandparents, David Alan and Sharon R. Lewis of Chesapeake; great grandparents, Cecil and Jackie Sorey of Chesapeake and Brenda Lewis of Chesapeake and Jean D. Dunkum of Richmond; aunts and uncles, Charity Lowe (Bradley), Jared Lewis (Kirsten), Breanna Bushey (Clayton) and Jessica Lee (Gary); a host of cousins and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends and family for a celebration of life on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Norfolk,  reception and graveside to follow.  Burial will be held at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.

  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the NICU department at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, PO Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501 (or online at www.chkd.org/donate).

Sweet Moxie Joy, Poppy and Sassy love you with all of our hearts! You brought so much joy and excitement in our lives in the short time God gave you to us. I know you are enjoying Heaven and being with Jesus but we certainly do miss you. Looking forward to spending an eternity with you! Cass and Nick, we’re so proud of you guys. You have let the Lord shine through you in the most difficult time in your lives. We love you guys!

Our hearts are broken that you left us so soon. We fell in love with you and will never forget you sweet girl. We know that you are in the arms of Jesus!! You taught us so much in 56 days! Our lives are changed forever! We love you Moxie Joy! One day we will meet again. Oh, what a glorious day that will be!
