Nancy Carroll Twine, born Oct. 8, 1934, passed away May 9th after a long season of poor health.

Nancy was a devoted daughter, faithful sister to her four siblings, caring mother and step-mother of five, and loving Nana to her eleven grandchildren. She was best known for her sense of humor, amazing fried chicken, love of flowers, affinity for fishing, bargain hunting at local thrift stores, and stirring the pot! Nancy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Bunny and Dennis Randolph, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Hope Twine (Sydney and Ryan), daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Steve Warsof (Katie, Matt, David, Ali, Beth, Elliot), son and daughter-in-law Scott and Cathy Twine (Devin, Riley, and Lexi), and her two step-sons and their families, Rick and Edgar Twine. The family is thankful for the long and fulfilling life Nancy shared with this world, and especially grateful for those who compassionately cared for her in her last few years: Dr. Marilyn Kellam, the staff at First Colonial Inn, and her loving and devoted friend, Judy Swope.

Nancy was married to Allen Twine for 52 years before his death in 2008. She was predeceased by her parents and three siblings: Jean, Barbara, and Harry.

A memorial service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Avenue, Virginia Beach on May 16th at 11:00 am. Nancy always said if you want proof of God, look at a flower. The family requests that mourners, in lieu of sending flowers, plant one in her memory that can be enjoyed by others.
