Nancy E. Malec, 72, of Gloucester, passed away on July 10, 2021.
Nancy was a graduate of Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and was the captain of the water ballet team. She majored in music at Grove City College, Pennsylvania. She had a black belt and was a Shotakan Karate Instructor. She was a rape crisis advocate and instructed women’s self-defense classes.
She was a world traveler, having lived in Okinawa and England, and visited Ireland, Wales, Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, and Thailand.
 Nancy was a highly influential and renowned breeder, show expert, and dog fancier of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Nancy bred over 65 champion dogs in different competitions. Most notably she was the top breeder in England in 1983, showing top dog in the UK at Crufts. She bred Best of Breed at the World Show in Tel Aviv in 1987 and again winning in Westminster in 1992. She bred the Top Dog in the USA in 1995. Nancy was a dog show judge, most notably in Israel and most recently the Netherlands. She retired from showing in 2005 and moved to Virginia to live near her beloved grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father, James Cassidy; brother, Daniel Cassidy; and uncle, Edward Damron. She is survived by her sons, James (Jennifer) Malec, Joshua Malec, and Jared Malec; and grandchildren, Cassidy, Jared Jr., and Teddy Malec.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home.
