Oscar Claud Coleman, Jr.

January 19, 1955 - August 28, 2020

Oscar Claud “Pinky” Coleman Jr, 65, of Norfolk, VA passed away August 28, 2020

Born in Rockhill, SC. He was the son of the late Oscar and Betty Coleman.

Oscar enjoyed playing Little League growing up and football in Jr High and High School. He graduated Northwestern HS in 1973 and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1976.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Perry, sister Sandy Brazil and son James Wesley “Wes”. Left to cherish his memory are his son Phillip, life partner Susan, Aunts, Uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He spent many summers working with his Dad, where he learned and was mentored in the many aspects of custom construction. He used his love of teaching and mentoring while coaching little league and to many who worked for and with him in the construction industry.

He was an avid U of S C Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins and Nascar fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and showing off all the tricks he taught his special fur baby Marley.

Oscar had a philosophy – that if it wasn’t important in an hour, day, month, that “It Just Doesn’t Matter”. So, don’t get hung up on the little things, life’s too short.

Until we meet again Bye.. Sicle.

What our families say...

In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
