Patricia Ann "Patti" Barnes

March 6, 1961 - November 23, 2020

Patti Barnes, 59, passed away on 11/23/2020 in Virginia Beach, VA at her home. She was born in Yokohama, Japan to Barney Chambers Sr. And Karen Chambers (Rennie). She was a graduate of Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Va.

Patti met her Husband Bobby Ray Barnes in Virginia Beach & their union brought forth their only child, Hunter. To Pattie, family was her everything and Hunter was her world. As life moved on, Hunter grew his family with his wife Kody & gave her three Grandbabies, who then became her whole world.

Patti worked for the VBCPS for 28 years, where she started as a bus driver, where she created so many relationships and where her bus kids became like her own & she watched them grow into young adults starting their own families. She then moved up into the Dispatch Department Of The VBCPS, where she was soon to Retire.  Her Dispatch team became like her other family , we always loved having her ride over on her four wheeler or her afternoon phone calls where she would tell us all her stories of the day.

Pattie, also was very involved in her Pungo Community, the most important one to her was the, VB 4H Livestock Club, she started her son, Hunter in 4H when he was just 9 years old teaching him and others all about the animals and responsibilities of taking care of them. Even as Hunter & Kody finished their time in the 4H Club, Patti continued on, with being a part of The 4H family, where she served as VP with the VB 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association.  And served as a VB Unit Rep to the VAA4-HVL (Virginia Association of Adult 4-H Volunteer Leaders). Next year was going to be her first grandbabies first 4H Year , It was all she could talk about to get everything ready for him and telling Jase all the things that would happen. Her love for these  4H kids was unreal! Hunter & Kody Barnes plan to honor her memory with A “ Patti Barnes Memorial 4 H Livestock Club Scholarship Fund” and want to make sure to carry on her gracious heart in the 4H Family and Pungo Community.

In addition to being predeceased by her Father Barney Chambers Sr. & Husband Bobby Ray Barnes & Nephew Landon Chambers. And Left To Cherish Her Memory are her Son, Hunter Barnes & Daughter in-law Kody Barnes & their children, Jase, Zoey & Sawyer. As well as Mother Karen Chambers ,Sister Deborah Jones, Brother Barney Chambers Jr. and their families, friends, loved ones & The Pungo Community.
