Per Albin Madsen, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 4th, 2018 in Virginia Beach.
He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and came to the United States in 1948. He attended Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts and graduated in 1951. He met his future wife Ruth in Paris, France and they were married in New York in 1954. Mr. Madsen worked for General Motors Corporation and eventually was stationed in Denmark and Germany heading up the sales departments there. He traveled extensively in this capacity including the Middle East and the Caribbean. Mr Madsen returned to the US in 1981 and settled in Virginia Beach in 1984, volunteering his time for the Clean Community Commission of Virginia Beach and the Association for Research and Enlightenment also in Virginia Beach. He has written and published two books, “The Metamorphosis of Charles Mott” and “Understanding and Working with Life’s Mysteries”.
He is survived by his son, Mr. Alan G. Madsen and his sister Lise Rasmussen.
His son would like to thank Mrs. Esperanza Solis, who was Mr Madsen’s care giver, for the wonderful and loving care she gave him during his final years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 5792 Greenwich Rd. in Virginia Beach.
