Phyllis Louise Turcotte

September 23, 1932 - August 16, 2021

SMITHFIELD- Phyllis Louise Turcotte, 88, passed away August 16, 2021, and is now being held in the arms of her beloved Savior Jesus Christ. Raised in the state of Pennsylvania, she graduated from West Chester State Teacher’s College, and was a much-loved teacher for over 40 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Turcotte Vaughan and her husband Frank, and Vickie Turcotte and her husband Eddie; granddaughter, Bonny; great-granddaughters, Kayla and Lexi; brother, Bruce Becktel and his wife Amy; and nephew Mark.
Aside from being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister-in-law, she was a long-time member of Monumental United Methodist Church where, with a voice like an angel, she loved singing in the choir, playing handbells, and serving on numerous committees and groups. She will be greatly missed by all, and especially her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 20, at 2:00 pm at Monumental United Methodist Church. A time for visiting with the family will begin at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monumental UMC or Benn’s UMC in Smithfield VA.
