Reginald Frederick Murrell, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2017. Reginald was born in Rhode Island to the late Romeo “Romie” and Rosa Lee Peele Murrell. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army. Reginald had worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and had served as the Union Vice President at local 1503.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Reginald F. Murrell, Jr of NY,NY, Ren Murrell of NY, NY, Jessica Jenkins-Simmons of Chesapeake, and Ricky Murrell and his wife Amanda of NY, NY; mother of his children, Judy Murrell; spouse, Kathy Murrell; siblings, Roosevelt Peele of Virginia Beach and Ruby Roberts and her husband Wayne of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Rachelle, Rainelle, Ryan, Raya, Jewelle, Reginald III, Jaelin, Jordan, Ricky Jr., Cayden, and Corey; great grandchild, Elijah Jr.; and best friend Warren.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Friday from 6:00pm until 7:30pm. A life celebration service will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home.
