MOYOCK – Richard Emmett Williams, III, 82, died December 21, 2020. To family and friends he was known as Dick or Dickie. Dick was born in Kinston, NC to the late Richard E. Williams, Jr. and Ruthie Barnett Hill. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy. Dick retired from Bauer Compressor, was a member of Moyock Baptist Church and enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns. He loved spending time with the grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Dick was predeceased by his wife, Bertha Ann Williams and siblings, James Williams, Ronnie Hill, and Stella Gordon.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Jo Ann Jennings (David) of Virginia Beach and Rachel Rotenberry (Dan) of Moyock; grandchildren, Craig Kidd ( Ashley) and Nicolas Rotenberry; great grandson, Jack Kidd; siblings Donnie Hill (Joan) and Faye Valentino (Patrick) and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Saturday from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Moyock Baptist Church and also live streamed (https://youtu.be/M0Med-5NHhg) with Pastor Vic Ramsey officiating. Jo & Rachel, I have many wonderful memories of Dick. He was like a “bonus” brother to Mama and an uncle to me.You girls are the best daughters your Dad and Mom could have dreamed of, and I know you rejoice in their reunion. Sending prayers for comfort and peace.
